Digest: Amish milk fight, designer (hot) dogs, and Idaho gets S/O/L/E

by @ 2:12 pm on 28 June 2006.

New York Times: Amish farmer from Mount Hope, Ohio, fights law forbidding him to sell raw milk from his dairy.

San Francisco Chronicle: Believe it or not, you’ll love knowing what’s inside these hot dogs.

Idaho Mt. Express: Wood River Valley, Idaho, is getting on the S/O/L/E Food train.

Washington Post: There’s nothing new for the faithful in this Michael Pollan Q&A, but it’s a good intro if you haven’t read The Omnivore’s Dilemma.

Santa Cruz Sentinel: Slightly kooky article about visiting chef Michel Nischan’s passion for Santa Cruz. He’ll host a show on the new Lime network, “Pure and Simple,” which checks out organic, local, sustainable foods in places around the world. By kooky I mean at the end of the article he claims that cooking with extra virgin olive oil “is very toxic and acts like rust on the body’s organs.” And that’s why Italians are so unhealthy?
