We’re excited to welcome Jennifer aka Baklava Queen and Jenni Pertuset as regular writers to the Ethicurean, from Washington state and Ohio, respectively. Jennifer is a baker, cook, and home preserver par excellence, while Jenni founded Seattle’s first meat CSA and as a parent, brings a perspective we’ve been lacking. You can read more about the Baklava Queen and Jenni on their bios. There are a couple of other contributors in the pipeline, and we’d love to add a few more in the South and East Coast (email me if interested). Eating, growing, and ensuring the survival of SOLE food is a broad topic, one that touches so many things in different ways around the country, that you can never have too many cooks in the kitchen.
On a side note, I’m dropping the "Dairy Queen" from my byline. There can only be one Queen at the Ethicurean, and I hereby pass the tiara to Jennifer. I’ve felt rather silly about my nom du blog for months: once I outed myself in the paper there seemed little point to remaining anonymous. Plus, while cheese is still my favorite food group, a more accurate nickname for me would be Pork Princess, given where my reporting interests lie — but I’m going to be just plain old me henceforth.
