…but the Berkeley farmers market was still delightful.
Actually, that’s a big fat lie. It was so cold my fingers went numb and I couldn’t get the money out of my pocket. But we’re having people over for dinner tonight, we have no food except meat, and I just couldn’t bring myself to go to the grocery store. The husband and I decided if the farmers were there, we too could brave the rain and wind. Fewer than half of them showed, but I got bacon, organic Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, beets, arugula, eggs, butter, apple cider, apples, mushrooms, goat yogurt, raw feta, onions, garlic, and two kinds of sorbet.
Needless to say, we also got very, very wet!

I think y’all up in NoCal got walloped worse than we down here in LoCal. It’s still raining…but we don’t have the winds anymore.

How cold does it have to be to numb your fingers? Last Thursday was about minus 20 Celsius, which is minus 4 Farenheit. I dream of it being warm enough to grow broccoli and arugula. Today is warm enough (4 Celsius or 38 Farenheit) that it is raining instead of snowing. I guess “frightful” weather is all relative. Bon appetit!
