Ethicurean editor temporarily out of commission

By Bonnie Azab Powell @ 9:30 am on 22 January 2008.

Pardon me for interrupting our regularly scheduled programming. Just so I don't have to type this to one more person — I have a pinched-nerve/disc problem that is giving me stabbing pains in my neck and right arm. I can barely type or mouse with my right hand without wincing. I am also leaving for Eco-Farm in Monterey today; Tom Philpott has kindly agreed to be my chauffeur. So, no Digest for another week or so — unless one of the other Ethicureans has time — and apologies to all those to whom I owe emails, particularly those who wrote in about corresponding from the East Coast or the South. I hope to be back to normal by next week, although the doctor said it could take six. >:-(

The news-starved should check out this new site, The Food Times, which is basically all digest, all the time. Other blogs that do regular news roundups are More Deliberately Every Day and The Slow Cook.

Feel better soon Bonnie!

Good luck with it. Had a similar problem a while back. In my case two things helped: Remove right arm rest from desk chair; stop slinging 600 pounds in my backpack and keep it off the shoulder.

Best wishes to you for feeling better. Foodjourn also does a food news roundup.

Good luck, speedy healing, and listen to your doctor and PT (if they send you to one)!

YIKES !!! I hate nerves, they fight back. Think you totally kicked their ass? Just keep an eye open when sleeping, that's all I have to say about that.
