Bay Area event: A discussion of climate-friendly eating

by @ 3:39 pm on 30 March 2008.

Tomorrow night (Monday, March 31) I’m moderating a discussion about making environmentally conscious food choices, sponsored by CUESA. It’s a pretty great panel — all women, incidentally:

  • Helene York, Director of Bon Appétit Management Company Foundation and Project Director of the company’s Low Carbon Diet program
  • Gail Feenstra, Food Systems Analyst at the UC Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program and member of the UC Davis/Bon Appétit Low Carbon Diet Project team
  • Laura Stec, chef and author of the forthcoming book "The Global Warming Diet: Cool Recipes for a Hot Climate"

Port Commission Hearing Room, Ferry Building 2nd floor. Program at 6:30, followed by audience Q&A and a reception with light refreshments at 8. It’s free and open to the public. I’d love to meet any Ethicurean readers, so please introduce yourself (same goes for the Meatpaper party tonight, where you’ll spot me by my bright orange purse).

Oh, and I’ve been mired in Edible San Francisco going to press, so no Digest until Tuesday, sorry.

This sounds very interesting, Bonnie. I can’t make it but would love to hear any sort of follow up you might have about the discussion.
