English stars get on the real-food bandwagon
Now if we can just get Octo-Mom to eat organic: "Where celebrities are concerned, it seems, food is the new fur," reports the UK press. English A-list celebrities are part of a new seafood-awareness campaign to back the cinematic release of "The End Of The Line," a film about the threat of overfishing. Lifelong vegetarian Paul McCartney is launching a meatless-day-per-week effort. Why are all these campaigns happening now? UK agtivist Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall says it's a direct response to government inaction: "If you want to save fish stocks or improve conditions for livestock, do you take it to politicians or do you take it to television and cinema? The latter seems the better way to work right now." (The Observer)
